Obama officials were treated as celebrities. It’s a good exercise for remembering to be aware of what’s going on all around you, not just right in frontįor five days and nights, as Washington partied its way toward the inauguration of a new president, the city was a mishmash of celebrities, politicos and regular people, and sometimes it was tough to tell them apart. Interesting to see how people are reacting to the moment than to see the moment itself. This is very true of political photography and really everything we do, that sometimes the most interesting picture is not in front of you where you would expect it, but right behind you. Of course what everyone is so interested in seeing is the newly elected, President and First Lady opening the ball with the first dance. What is interesting about the photo is what you can’t see.
